Today is a Beautiful Day!

Today is a Beautiful Day!

A Poem by Kimberly "Melody" Carney

wouren and worthe

Today was a beautiful day!

Who could ask for more?

My heart still beating within me,

Just the same as before.

Two hands to hug my healthy kids,

Two feet that hit the floor.

Each second that I complain,

As if life is a chore,

I stop and think of those with less;

Unsure if they will eat,

No longer have freedom to walk,

Just mocked by their two feet.

Some live in countries, they can’t pray,

Told what to do and say.

Some beaten by the ones they love,

And children run away.

Today is a beautiful day!

A day I’ll make a change!

I’ll take some clothes the kids won’t wear,

And give them all away.

Before dinner tonight we will,

Serve the homeless a meal.

I’ll share my story to each of them,

In hopes that they may heal.

I’ll speak to the woman beaten,

And tell her of my day,

Hope that she’ll believe in herself,

And build a brand new way.

My life is not my own in ways,

With this I am at peace,

This world is just a big puzzle,

I am but a piece.

Today is a Beautiful Day!

~Melody

Indeed it was a good day, and many more are to come, I love this and can relate on so many levels, from being homeless with an alcoholic mother to later in life have the blessing to be able to feed and help clothe the less fortunate. Our life is not only ours we are only a piece, I love this poem! Wonderfully written! You have a humble heart, God bless you!

These inner thoughts of yours are truly a unique bunch that invoke a special sort of attention. I am not sure really what I can attribute here. I may not even make sense because I am a bit tired but still having read this I am still fascinated by your details.

THANKS FOR REMINDING ME IN SUCH A SIMPLE WAY.
as the old Asian proverb says... "Less Is More"
This is a theme that can be repeated over and over and still hold true and be recreated by everyone anew!

A wise person is thankful for a new day and tried to find ways to help another. I like the message in the poem. Today world need love and kindness. A kind word can make someone have some hope in the darkness of fear. Thank you for the excellent poem.

We have so much to thank for in our lives but we rather keep ranting about what we don't have. We forget about the less fortunate ones .. your words made me think again mam .. thank you
