A brilliant Mind's, Very- Short Story

A Story by Kimberly "Melody" Carney
"

A very short story, with a very big point.

"

A brilliant mind was once condemned to die, by its very own master. It cried, "But why do you deem me to die?"

The master replied..."I've been told not to use you as also told what to think."

The mind cried, "But I've wisdom untold of a world brave and bold, do you still not want me?"

The master walked away with not even a thought...as he'd gave that ability away.

Author's Note

Kimberly "Melody" Carney
I have seen the wondrous minds of men be tossed to the way side, simply to follow another’s thoughts on a matter. Rather it is; religion, morals or how we should do what we do. This breaks my heart in two. Where are the free thinkers that carry the dreams of what may just change our tomorrow?
I for one have always followed my soul it’s been around far longer than me.

Oh wow what a write you have written here. You are right too with " A very short story, with a very big point". I love all of the true meaning in this with thoughts, freethinking, freedom, and life. This write hold so much truth, sadness too. The mind is a lovely gift. I love your inspiration for this as spoken of in your author's note, such a great inspiration for this small story. I really enjoyed reading this powerful write, indeed it makes a impact in the small space you wrote it in. Really nice.

Beautiful sentiment, great picture too. According to the philosophies of Zen Buddhism, or any Buddhism for that matter the giving away of mind, "dissolution" "the dropping off of mind" is the primary goal of meditaiton and is considered a good thing. With the dropping off of mind your sense of identity and ego dissolves allowing you to connect directly with your innate "primordial awareness" the part of yourself that is always directly linked to the ultimate source of your being. Because there is no Identity or ego, (which is a construct and an obstacle to the experiencing of pure awareness.) With the dropping off of mind there is no grasping or aversion. And through this process one can eventually become enlightened. The death of the minds constructs falsely held as reality by the ego is the birth of our innate cosmic awareness.

You melody are a soul who learned through all facets the universal path gave you, this is an exceptional write (forgive me if I make errors in English) out of internet right now, and writing from my phone. But dear soul sister, I fuse in your thoughts, I see the wise and gifted spIritual message, a lot of people don't see pity enough yet, but they will, with our grace and patience. Sometimes a thing above helps the ones who need to spread a message first, but all the souls will be saved, and if not, it's not in our hands... We have to let it go then.

Miss you too! Thanks a lot sweety X till soon
Oh I like this and this conversation with Sheila Kline...going to need to find her writing as well. When I was about 3 or 4 the first thing I can remember reading on grand ma's bathroom wall was a little wooden plack...I probably memorized songs by then but I learned to read this and still try to live by it...

"most any old fish
can float and drift and dream
but it takes a regular live one
to swim against the stream."

I too follow my heart no matter which way the wind is blowing. It can leave you in a crowd or secluded as an island in the rain but there is great peace in being who you are...Thanks for this Melody. I cannot remember the last time I said that saying..possibly 35 to 40 years and I have you to thank....

I love that you enjoyed this!
Yes, yes, yes!!! I have left jobs, not gotten jobs, turned from ventures as I have always believed I must follow my heart, and my intuition, and use wisdom. We must be willing to blaze new paths, be independent thinkers as one who thinks outside of the box, and not do just because the average "does". As far as poetry, yes there is meter, form, the Masters, but I often just do my own thing, not knowing if perhaps I may be the one to introduce a new way to write, have a different style. Yes, where are the free thinkers??? Too many are imprisoned within mankind's mold of normalcy!
