We are nature

We are nature

A Poem by Kimberly "Melody" Carney
"

Please do not misunderstand when I say” foolishness.” It is simply said to stop the flow, in order to grasp my point, of what is to follow.

"

NaturalNature

We stand in awe of the mountains,

the sea births serenity,

we honor the earth and what it bears,

look to it, to feel free.

Ah, foolishness! We miss the point.

It’s part of you and me.

From the nature is whence we came,

thus nature sets us free.

Lose not the point that pushes us,

that makes us crave this earth.

We are a part of all we crave,

Immerse yourself in worth.

Of the mountain peaks we are part,

of the sea so are we,

of evergreens and old oak trees,

earth's vessels walking free.

So surround yourself in nature,

the waters of your soul.

Submerse yourself, with who we are,

a part of nature,  whole.

For we are a drop in the eternal ocean of energy, yet we are never alone in this world. We are all things and all things are part of our spirit. One can not live a part from the whole unless he is a splinter from the branch of the great tree of life without the knowledge of his origin.

this is stunningly done! I really enjoyed this one a lot. Yes, we are one with nature. Outstanding! The last paragraph summed the whole poem well, and I enjoyed this.

Gotta shelve this one!!!

It's a beautiful poem, expressing the harmony we should feel with the natural world. Some extreme environmentalists think we should not even be on the planet because of our polluting and disruptive activities. But we were created from the elements of this earth, to live within all the intricate cycles of nature. That's why we perceive brown and green to be pleasing complimentary colors. That's why camping in the woods is so refreshing, with the 'green' earthy smell and the resilient feel of old rotting logs and pine needles underfoot. Sorry. Got carried away. Your poem explains all that.

I agree with your words. We are one with nature. We need her more then she need us. I like the strong description and the true logic of your words.
"So surround yourself in nature,
the waters of your soul."
Thank you for the outstanding poetry.
