Let it be

Let it be

A Poem by Kimberly "Melody" Carney

majucal world

What does it mean to free one’s mind?

To truly let it go,

no more burdens, thoughts unclear,

finally free to grow.

How we limit ourselves, our minds

With guilt, worry and fear.

Here’s a tangible solution,

the answer is quite clear.

Now open the doors to your mind

and let it just run free.

At first it will run oh so wild,

relax and let it be.

As time runs on, it will run down

and rest contentedly

A mind is like a beast of sorts,

it truly must be free

So sit back and relax my friend.

Just try and let it be.

Understanding comes from trying.

Trust me, you wait and see.

Most excellent thoughts, Melody..Finding freedom can be complex because it is not always as it seems. Don't wish to taint the positiveness of an inspirational message in your fine poem. as your words say it all...Thanks for a great read to start my day...

I agree with the logic of your words. Need to allow life to fall into place. Allow our minds to find peace and the place we need to be. Nice flow of thoughts and i like the music. Thank you for the outstanding poem.

The rhythm of this piece is flawless, like a gentle rolling drumbeat. This is really, really good. I loved the message, too: a man's mind must be free so he can tap into his creativity; it enables us writers and artists to work

I like it. It's a song more than a poem. You really capture both the picture and the melody.

Many of the people I have met throughout the years have told me, 'Above all else, try to look at things with an open mind'. I have always heeded this advice and approached each situation I encountered, no matter how uncomfortable, doing just that. I feel that I am a better person for having done so.
This speaks to me on so many levels. It speaks of trying something you may believe you might fail at, but you never know until you do. Harness the imagination, don't allow others to dictate to you what you should and should not say, always be yourself and allow your horizons to be broadened by the acceptance of change, unique people, in different situatios. You got me thinking, and for me (at least according to some folks I know), that's not easy...

I did, and thank you for sharing it with us...
Lovely Melody! I like the 8/6 syllable count, helps the flow. Would suggest changing:

"And rest so contently"
to
"And rest contentedly"

Good job!
