Poetry

A Poem by Kimberly "Melody" Carney

So lovely to write,

 of my minds captive thoughts.

Birthing life into them,

that shall never stop!

Heart beats echo,

as the pin glides each word.

To stop them,

 would be quiet absurd!

We write all so different,

our thoughts not the same.

 This is the blessed gift,

 diversities burning flame.

Couplet, Quatrain,

Iambic Pentameter

or Free Verse?

Just write your heart out,

there’s no need to rehearse.

Give life to your dreams

 and healing to your past.

It’s amazing to see,

what comes out and how fast.

I have healed my broken heart

 and mended my soul.

With such simple words,

 that has made me whole.

My poetry is not perfect,

a far cry from it that’s true.

I am more interested in

the simple magic it can do.

So pick up your pin

and open the door

 of your mind.

Simply… just write

for the joy that you’ll find!

A gorgeous piece, Melody. It expresses the sheer therapy of writing and the importance it holds to the writer. When I was younger I thought writers just liked to share their stories, but I've learned since then how healing writing can be and how meaningfully writing can impact a person's life. This piece says it all. Thank you.

Thank you. Your so very kind.
I never want anyone to think that, this is a stopping place. Always I am working on perfecting my work. Just not everything you write should be work. Sometimes what is therapy to me may be therapy to you. So I share...I expose the raw Melody in words written as I speak (freely). There is a time to devote to perfection and growth...and a time to write fearless and free for healing invoked.

You get across the therapy of writing... opening the doors of our mind, expressing the unthinkable, conveying our inner longings

I absolutely love this. It is an homage to poetry...how original. Your love of writing comes across very clearly. I enjoy pieces like this because I can really identify. It is very descriptive. I sometimes invest in poetic meter, when I have time to roll up my sleeves. I have two poems about writing you might enjoy, although they are quite different from yours and from eachother, if you are interested...no obligation though. Here are the links:

Are we not so lucky to have such a wonderful passion?

I will read them as I have tonight off from work. ;)
And that's the truth... for you, and for me too!
Thank you. Very uplifting, wise, and we are all here to write. Aren't we?

Amazing, someone point this out!
