Paranoid Beast ~ Bhuyanshi TalukdarA Poem by Bhuyanshi Talukdar
Sometimes, I wonder if there's more to the shadows in this Greenwich alley.
a hint of danger lurking nearby, like a ghost from that River Thames. The soft brush of footsteps behind me, the subtle rattle of a pistol being loaded, like the roar of waves lashing against a stone cliff. The stench of rotting meat fills my nostrils as I pass by the garbage bins, the smell lingering in the air for much longer than normal. Even the tiniest noises seem loud and ominous, my senses heightened and hyper-aware of any subtle change in the environment. Then the quick, sudden flash of steel, carving out my final moments of pain and despair, before I'm carried away to that Spanish retreat on the Iberian coast. I don't know if I'm getting paranoid, my mind playing tricks on me... © 2024 Bhuyanshi Talukdar |
