Peeling off mangoes~ Bhuyanshi Talukdar

Peeling off mangoes~ Bhuyanshi Talukdar

A Poem by Bhuyanshi Talukdar

As I peel off the fruit's outer skin,
Juice drips down my fingers like rain,
Revealing the sweet flesh within,
A treasure trove of flavor to gain.
People, too, are like this fruit,
Each one with their own special flavour
Hidden depths, talents abound.

Just like the fruit that's covered in rind,
People's true selves can be hard to find,
But if we take the time to peel away,
We'll find the heart that's there to stay.

Your message is excellent but may be too explicitly announced to fit easily into prosody. I am guessing English is a second language? If so, I applaud your attempt to write in that language the most difficult of all the writing disciplines.

Fruit hides so many things like people also. I like your idea here.

How clever an analogy! Wow wow. I’m gutted and floored at the same time. This is priceless.

I like that you find inspiration in peeling a mango. What a fitting metaphor for learning to appreciate the inner persons of people we know.

I have never before been juxtaposed against a mango .. but on reflection, it feels quite nice and I do love them so .. Neville

Interesting simile between people and mangoes here. Indeed, people's true selves can be hard to find, but one with the patience to keep searching will be greatly rewarded.
