I took them

I took them

A Poem by Thatonekid
"

death poem, the last plague over eygpt

"

The son of the shepard

The guard

The blacksmith

I took them all

The boy carrying water

Carefully balanced now shattered

Halfway through the door

I took him too

Passing through houses

Stealing their breath

Kissing away their warmth

I took them

One by one

Every single first one

Collecting their souls

I took the first ones

And last the pharaoh's son

His hardened heart

Will change

I took his first son

The last of the ten

Sent by the Almighty

Passing by the blood

I took them all

Very nice. Each line was short and powerful which I thought you made a great choice of words for that.

I agree with @Oh Oh Oh no, when it talked about "passing through houses" and on it reminded me of when they put the blood of a lamb in the shape of an X on their door. It's very powerful and intriguing. Maybe have a more powerful closing?

I liked it, it reminded me of something from the bible, when they had to put the red x or the blood on their dokr or their first son would die. Is that from the bible? Im real sorry but i really liked your poem. You said Almighty like God right? So maybe have more hints or things about him in there. Or more descriptions around the surrounding
