Dissonance in Cognition

Dissonance in Cognition

A Poem by MelLo
"

Romance decisions

"

Understand the cross I bear seems unfair
pieces in between don't quite fit
decisions juxtaposed, cons and pros
reality is deemed easy in those eyes.
Questions with no true answers posed
attempt to elongate uncertainty.
Embrace me and think me yours
hold on tight and don't let go.
A time and place is task for fate
undisturbed is your thought of our path
though no match for my hesitant mind.
I have loved and lost and lost myself
found my being behind that last curtain.
Assertive of what's to be accomplished,
those left behind, boundaries created
My soul found untouched, reborn
a phoenix born from ashes of the past, let go.
Thus my essence complete
but ordered to cross a cacophony of opinions,
dissonant voices rising from the abyss.
Presumed commitment, lethal dagger
disintegrating love, trust, certainty...
My discording heart may oblige
but not before this inconclusiveness is made veritable.
