Clearly Apart

Clearly Apart

A Poem by M Lamont

After years and years away
You come back around
Dangling a white flag of truce
But there was no war

Reconciliation time has expired

Wrongs were committed
But are long since forgotten about
Turned into a funny, dark joke
Laughing at the absurdity

Perspective gives great clarity

No going back, I am too far forward
I’ve forgiven it all and stepped out
Slowly ride the hands of time
Future possibilities of hope unknown

A breadth of reflection works miracles

I love this!!!!! It's so great. That first stanza packs quite a whallop (did I just say whallop???) wow. I'm shot!
lol Anyhoo, love the first stanza. Love the arrangement here, those single lines tying together the stanza's are hot! And the calm peace in your center seems to confirm you have indeed reconciled the past. Or, at least that's how I'm reading it. Nice work!!
