Summer To Fall

Summer To Fall

A Poem by M Lamont

The sunflowers are gone
And took the daisies with them
The mums will arrive and will bring the green and purple cabbage
Gourds and pumpkins quickly follow

Summer is quietly slipping out the back door
As autumn places it luggage and bags on the front porch
We will miss our warm and relaxed friend
But welcome our crunchy and crisp new visitor

These short few months with each seem to go by quickly
Just as you ease into a groove, it’s time for a change
It’s good for your schedule and your home
But most importantly, it does wonders for your soul

Amen, brother! Autumn is my favorite season, I can hear the crickets, smell the fires burning, and crisp is right! I love the fresh air autumn rushes in to soothe us from the heat of the summer. Of course, I love summer as well, but, I was born in the fall, so I'm a little biased!!
This is such a great write, I'm running to the front door with open arms to great autumn....
Lovely!!
