Directionless

Directionless

A Poem by M Lamont

Where can something go?
When a direction was never possessed
Hurtling toward a picturesque end
A beautiful graffiti covered brick wall
Known as our heartbreak

Smash
Shatter
Scatter

We strived for this
Knew it would happen
All the effort we ever made
Was engineered for failure
Our crude attempt at happiness
Nothing but a twisted mirthless sham

Thank you to you
Thank you to me
Thanks to us for getting out
With what was left of ourselves

Amen! This is a great write, from a mere audience member!! But, that's what makes us poets poets!! Yes, hopefully at the end, there is still something left of ourselves. Directions. Who keeps stealing the directions??? Energy follows intent, even when unintended. Love this.
