Phantom Garden

Phantom Garden

A Poem by M Lamont

Forgotten like an overused toy

Discarded with some thought, but not much

The playful usefulness was our elicit taboo

Wrong but right, why did we foster it?

How easily you let it go

How easily I kept but hid my portion

Only to secretly repot it to grow

Only my eyes see the deceptive growth blossom

This tangle of weed monopolizes my thoughts

My beautiful disingenuous germination

Tip toe through my garden with me, won’t you?

No? Of course…you know nothing of it’s continuance

You left it

For dead

On your departure

The struggle to maintain a love gone awry. That is probably one of the most challenging things in life. Well put.

Wonderful, really wonderful!
There are some powerful feelings mixed into this one, to me it speaks as if a lover abandoned the one person that really cares, as weed in the garden is left to grow. Although i don't mind weed in growing in the garden, it gives a very comfortable feeling when everything isn't arranged properly, but with this poem you make me feel how it feels to be abandoned, without reason/explanation.
And indeed, sometimes we do grow what we want, and it isn't always for the better.
Really nice write here!
