Mother

Mother

A Poem by midnight reaper

Why do we destroy the very earth that created us?

Why do we build jungles out of concrete, not tree and earth?

Why do we rival our mother who gave us this planet?

Why do our cities not connect with her, pay homage to her great work?

Why do we think we are the leaders of something made not with our hands but with mothers?

We topple her empire and beauty with the hustle and bustle of city streets and ever growing cities filled with concrete towers and pollution which spreads through the land like a disease.

Though we think this is our domain we are wrong for we are just spoiled children.

Though we think we can't be punished mother always has a way to put her children in line.
