Pondering Thoughts

Pondering Thoughts

A Story by Megan Skaff

I hate the effect she has on me. The way I compare myself to her, because when she's in the picture, there is no comparison. She wins every time. In the way her beauty reflects through her pictures, the hold she has on your heart. I wish it was me. That's selfish really, but I wish it was me you were in love with. But I can't blame you, look at her. So now I'll let go, because deep down I know I am not the one you would choose to be with. This is where I pack my bags and head to a new place, a new start. It's too hard for me to stay here and watch what should have been mine disappear from my life. There is life for me somewhere, there is a man out there for me. I just have to find him. So now I'll head to North Carolina, a new beginning for a soul in desperate need of love. I care for you deeply and I know you care for me, but that will never be enough will it? I will never be enough.
