A Poem by Megan Skaff

I could get lost in your voice

The way you talk to me

Like nothing I've done in my past matters

All of my mistakes

Were just passing waves

On nights so dark no one could pull me back to shore

As they collapsed over my body and dragged me under

The nights that no one noticed

I was walking into a death trap

Set up by my own mind

Your voice was a melody

My guardian angel

Looking to save me without even knowing

How gone I was

You don't know this but your voice is my sanity

Dark winds try to suck me into the depths of Hell

Your voice pulls me out

And I thank you for that

No words I recite could make you comprehend the meaning of your existence in my life.
