Waiting to be Loved

Waiting to be Loved

A Poem by Jane Jinh
"

Don't hesitate to feed me

"

I'm looking at the crowd of people in front of me
They are walking and running and so busy as a bee
I feel my body, it's wet and I'm soaking cold
It's raining so hard as I walked slowly in this street fold.

I looked back and saw again the busy people
I'm wondering If someone will give me a call
I looked away and continued walking slowly
I am so cold and my heart is so lonely.

I stopped sadly at a distant busy food stall
I sat down and felt on my face the raindrops as they fall
I smelled something delicious and my stomach rumbled
I ran to the stall but I slipped and there I stumbled.

The stall owner saw me and drove me away with a stick
I looked at her sadly but she gave me a butt kick
I ran hastily and hid beside a nearby trash can
I don't deserve this, what have I done?

It's so hard to feel so cold and alone on this rainy day
I am not able to speak and words are nowhere to say
I am truly wishing that someday a blissful soul will see
The struggles that I'm facing and will not hesitate to feed me.
