The Deceit

The Deceit

A Poem by S

Famish took a toll

And he found a prey

she served herself on platter

For him to devour.

Mayhem and miseries

Were his bequests.

While he moved forward

to continue his quest.

She couldn't leave him in her past

She just carried him in her heart.

In his deception,

She found herself,

and her sanity.

Opened her eyes to more than just vanity.

He came in with his purpose

but her mind wont let him go

And so he stayed

like a virus in her system

And with every cell that he infects

She becomes stronger and wiser.

Without innocence to cloud the vision

She faces the deceits all around

without hiding in the shrouds of fear

For she is now immune.

Immunity is necessary for survival and now she is wiser, precise and more powerful. This was both brilliantly and intelligently written.
