night sky

night sky

A Poem by mizere__

sometimes the night sky frightens me
it holds so much within it
I look up and see billions of stars,
billions of planets leading to billions of galaxies
i have so little time
the night sky is right in front of me.i can see it.
but at the same time,
i am blind to its true existence

walking down a busy street at night
thousands of people rush past me
i see them
but at the same time,
i am unaware of their true existence,
until i stop walking, take a deep breath
i look up into the sky and think
'how did i miss that?'

A very insightful comparison of the way we look at stars and the way we view our fellow beings. Sometimes we need to stop and breathe and really consider what we are beholding. Well done.
