What if...
Two words that seem so insignificant, but require volumes for a response; the possiblities abound When they are submerged in a memory, we are instantly taken to a solitary place in our minds. A place that only we hold the key; and seem to visit only in those few fleeting moments before sleep. The memories seem to light the paths that we choose to trod. Both good and bad, we can still get lost from time to time; as we gaze on that which is reflected upon our inward eye. Though we yearn for the bliss and freedom of young love and curse the restraints and bindings of somber regret; that persistant question lingers. Always blaming ourselves by answering... "I should have been there for him," or maybe "I could have prayed harder;" perhaps, "I should have said, 'I love you', more often." We label past mistakes as experience or lessons learned; but regrets meet us at every door. For man to say that he has no regrets in life is to deny ever being human. It is an unquenchable hunger that we have; and for some it is a necessity of healing, for both the mind and soul, to ask... WHAT IF... © 2009 MitoReviews
