Alone

Alone

A Poem by mitchey

Wrapped up in the world of my own
I shut out all the aches I've known.
Dreams like birds can't help but fly
The aches bang on the door for my reply.

So far this road have I trod amidst the crowds
My head buried in my sigh, I raise my brows.
If only the knew my thoughts - my aches!
Within I felt the mockery - you're the least of their headaches!

Unnoticed and beaten I sort my leave
the dust on my feet like paws sort their cleave.
Maybe I'm all alone
Maybe family and friends were just stone.

I set myself on this lonesome journey
My companion, my shadow - that, on the ground below my knee.
My past so busy but empty
Maybe the future so lonely but hefty.

You can sometimes feel more alone being surrounded by the wrong people, than actually alone and enjoying life! Great write.. :)
