love you, dad

i wrote a poem for my dad when i didnt call him for days together and he was sad about the fact that i didnt miss him at all. but to let him know that that was not the case, i wrote this poem for him.

LOVE YOU, DAD.

I was the first one you longed to see

When you got from your work,

I never waited for you, precisely,

Cause I was just a little girl,

Who knew nothing but play all day.

You took me in your big arms and spun me around,

I laughed and smiled and waited for our fight,

Where I knew I would definitely win,

Because you never let me lose, you never will.

 

I was always your little girl, always your princess

You help me reform when I have made a mess,

You do everything possible to fulfill my desires.

And what you asked from me in return,

Was just my little time,

Just a little space for you in my occupied world.

 

Now, I grew up and have my own ways,

I make you wait on call because I’m talking to my mates.

I care least to listen to your favorite melody,

Cause I’ve got my guitar to play the country.

But when I need something, I turn to you.

 

And you do anything possible to fulfill my desire,

As I have always been your princess, your little girl.

 

But there are times when my friends are mean,

They break my heart and leave, I have seen,

And that is when I come to you.

Seeing me cry you hug me tight,

And say that they don’t deserve my tears,

You are far above those silly fights.

I feel my heart empty and you fill it with all your love.

 

Because I was always your little girl,

Always your princess,

You help me reform when I have made a mess,

You do everything possible to fulfill my dreams.

And what you ask from me is my little time,

Just a little space for you in my occupied world,

And that’s what I wish to give you now.

Very nice poem and a befitting tribute to your Dad.Dads mean so much to girls.....you realize that only when your dad is no more......or very late in life when thre isn't much to be done for your Dad.It is good that you have realized this early and from now on don't ever ignore him.Very well written and written with feelings
