Lucy

Lucy

A Poem by scarlynn

What stars are yours tonight?
Mine sit dopelessly across the cold indigo,
placid and waiting for a signal.
We take one after another,
you are my alter ego,
and I am yours.
A handsome affair,
swapping these tongue stamps.
Thirty minutes trickling down
waterfalls on the face of a clock,
sweat beads falling up-
gravity becomes her own nonsense.
Fragments of time swirl around us
like stained glass,
pinks and greens and still,
everything is okay.
Apathy erased by the galaxies in your eyes,
eclipses too big for their own good.
We've got to be above it.
We are gargantuan starflowers,
sinister things hiding in the flavors of color,
jetlagged shadows dance around
like slowmotion sunsets.
We don't fight the evils
because there are none.
You've got to let it happen.
