Texas

Texas

A Poem by scarlynn

Dark and mahoganied

Smoky, greasy, pistoled men-

Lurking like fat grey fish beneath

Billiard lamplights.

Ashed cigar fingers stir

Silty martini spirits

Phantoming them in the morning,

Guilt is a haunt of mine.

Try to convince me

Someone here isn’t a sinner.

Nice one. Your best, so far. "Mahoganied" and "Phantoming" are great words. One of your strengths is texture.

I'm also a f*****g sucker for texture, though. I like tangible writing. Anyway, nice work. Glad y.. read more
