Product of Divorce: A Confession in PartsA Poem by scarlynn
Part 1
She drives as you rip your lips off - a careful transition, she's too focused on the road, we all are. Underneath is a different smile, your teeth are so radiant they surprise you, you haven't brushed since middle school. You realize how funny it is that your expression is the same as his and his, so funny it brings you to the biggest sobs you could imagine. It must be all my free time now. Part 2 Every two hours. Euphoric, ecstatic, elated, elastic bends so far you might wince, but nothing is taut enough for a snap. Every two hours. Always, never, hate, love all the people I'm with I am invisible near, by myself I am just as ghastly. Every two hours. a week-long bender, a nasty phone call to people you never wonder about anymore- you extinguish everything they wonder. Cannot spend a weekend alone.
