For Ohio

For Ohio

A Poem by scarlynn

If you had asked me
at seventeen years
"have you ever wanted to kill someone?"
I'd be a dead hanging liar
if I'd said no.

Send you the only swan song I know,
my silence is dark and cold as you could imagine.
I think of your eyes in real life,
Maybe I'm too depressed -
I skim them, I can't read.
Eclipses are as damaging as the sun herself.

At least now,
cigarettes make me think of something.
