Glass in the Shade

Glass in the Shade

A Poem by scarlynn
"

And to be so beautiful without becoming one to shine would be a sin..

"
When I am a flower
and my eyes dance with the dark
with terror and pride
venom and bitter flame
and you see me glowing
filling these corner with whispers
of anxiety and hope and falsehood
with memories worn on my sleeve
and stitched into the seams
I hope that in the instant when
I find you
you will find me as well
I hope that the dark is diluted
and that the weight of the air becomes
lighter
I hope that you sound just like
a flying dream
or the city streets we find rarely vacant
I hope that your eyes are windows into the abyss that would stare back
out of curiosity
I hope you would promise to stay safe
let me shelter your soul if you can shelter my shades of black
and let the blade melt
but let the scar be
and you would not have me remind you that
this is appreciation, not possession
and fathom the idea that
this may as well not be our imagination
and we can feel safe to let go
and find who
our expeditions have molded us into
as one
and as two
