Muse

Muse

A Poem by Kristina Moulaison

I found you

in the basement, waiting

picked you up

and rolled you on my tongue

toyed with the thought

of taking you home

too dirty for dinner time

too shiny for

night light fantasies

I put you in my pocket

kept you like a talisman

turning you over and over

like a candy rosary

saved you for later

spat you like a wet dream

when I needed to spin

something magical

beyond me

you were my graduation cap

my larger than life

bleeding soldier

rolling, rolling

like a culvert full of bones

all jangly in my head

too precious to lose

too dark to see

the light of day

you were my

better half

I love your muse. It's cute!! I don't know graduation... I didn't even get to finish my High school, getting signed out. My muses over the past year were people who found little quirks they liked about me in my poems, and I would think up a story with them in my head, and have this incredible need to do something for them. In your poem you have this one line that shocked me!! lol "spat you like a wet dream" I can't help but try and picture that, but even doing so, I don't know where to start. : ) The line fits perfect with your poem, for I believe that muses are personal inspirations as plentiful and random as the person themselves. : ) xoxo -Mark
