On the wind...

On the wind...

A Poem by Kristina Moulaison

We are two towering fortresses
surrounded by deep moats
full of beasts
heavy toothed and ready to devour.
I toss rocks at your window
against the bitter darkness
over buttressed walls made of thick
impermeable stone
trying to clear your battlements
...in vain.

But on the winds, with whispers
that can reach through
the chink of your armor,
I send you

words,

and touch
the sweet
cowering, precious
reaches of your battered heart
the place of your longing
where with your guard laid down
you are naked before me
letting my smokey fingers
breathe over you
like a ceremonial fire
that cleanses
a broken warrior.

And as quiet
as a heartbeat
this misty union seeps
like a vacuum into space
and we are safe again
inside our castles
built
of stone.

This is timeless... it could occur right now... a thousand years ago, or in a distant future... your words travel far... Wow!

Thank you kindly!
Very visual! "... my smokey fingers ..." The image of smoke, creeping up and all about someone's being is VERY descripive ... and that that touch ... like the smoke ... dissipates into the heavens.

VERY nice work.
