Ode to One Lost Youth

Ode to One Lost Youth

A Poem by Kristina Moulaison
"

Scale of a teenage mother.

"

Out of four handfuls of years

I threw back one, traded

it for your bright cheeks

and infinite smile.

How then

could I even try, with bitterness,

to grab this handful back again-

these five fingers, willfully

forgetting

to pick up

yours?

I write. Read me. We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, la.. more..
