The Air Between

The Air Between

A Poem by Kristina Moulaison

Your body seems to lay

at high altitude

where the air is thin and

empty of your voice

where a garland of roses

instead

is found for me

Your laughter hangs

silent and heavy

in clouded halo

above me

blurring vision

and countering reason

with worthy argument

Your eyes have turned

so that you

are walking a distance

away from me

out of reach

my feet

sinking into sand

Your soul expands

in me, pressing

into the shrinking space

that was once reserved

for breath

About
I write. Read me. We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, la.. more..
