Time Lost

Time Lost

A Poem by Kristina Moulaison

Those scarlet years

have turned to a blue black haze

a punch paltry sway of

lush broke memory

gravy thickened middle

favoring the left side of brain

too far adrift from center

I have found myself obsolete

a week old paper, wrinkled

at the edges with coffee stained

rings from being set upon

miles of sand back drop, hard

paved road punctuated by slick

neon electric

well timed jolts

to pull my bootstraps over

forgiving drifted paper airplane efforts

with sudden frenzy licked hollow chase

ready excuses puffed up on floaty water

animals, a drink through bendy straw,

spastic fruity benzene concoctions

in plastic

my labors of love filling

trash bin lined alleyways

dunked off well-intentioned

graffiti pocked walls, shattered

glass-hearted, sticker shock

protection, wading vacant

in the kiddy pool

About
I write. Read me. We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, la.. more..
