Fortunate Daughter

Fortunate Daughter

A Poem by Kristina Moulaison

I am lacking

infrastructure

there are promises,

so plump,

bordering on

an embarrassing abundance

of riches...

potential dripping

from every orifice, I am

never lacking reason, there is

forever a deficit

of will

this golden haired, fair skinned

silver spooned display

of too much

too little

too late,

my raiment

of lackluster

ingenuity

my brothers of fortune

Carnegie and Rockefeller

armed with sharp hewn

mummified weaponry

of inheritance

are rolling over in their

marble hearted

fur lined

graves

digging intricate tunnels

to a better

after life

my shoulders, too tired

to hold all this

jewel encrusted

...potential

About
I write. Read me. We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, la.. more..
