Firefly

Firefly

A Poem by Kristina Moulaison

If she could gather these seeds
she scatters
when tasting
their power-
bursts of red poppies
that bleed
limp fallen petals
to the dirt
black stems flailing
with the mourning wind,
If she could swim in the glow
without
bursting corona halos

touch your sweet, sweet
effervescence
popping to fizzles...

wouldn't she?

Who cowers in the mist
that can fly headlong to kiss the sun

...even as it burns.

and
broken wings fan
dark to light

eyes close for
lips to moisten fingertips

and blow...

Superb writing, you have a way of painting a picture with your words. Well done.

As you know I love your writing. This proves me a wise man. You have this thing that real poets have...its a directness of few words that tell a complete story.

I think you are full of passion for things in your life. This passion is tangible in your poetry.

Keep it up. I think you should pursue being published! If you want help selecting some submissions let me know. :-)

This was spectacular - who cowers that could fly headlong - who? why would you?

I love how you paint the polination with poetic gentility and set our hearts ablaze imagining we too are in flight - yet, we also can only offer a moist breeze to never truly kiss - one such as this, so fleeting so frail so firey and oh so free.
