Ante Lucem

Ante Lucem

A Poem by Kristina Moulaison
"

Before daybreak...

"
Dew keeps vigil
over slumbering
arbor kings.
Skyward they lay
in heavy robes
of emerald.

Tassels lightly sway.
Misty breath mingles,
pale in grey.

All is still now.

Dark wolf pads silent,
crouching in noble's shade
waiting.

Forest holds its breath
lucid dreaming.
Ancient groves hush
with fledgling buds,

to see
what new thing comes.

Title your work in Latin, even if it's a dirty limerick, and I'll swoon every time. This poem gives the grace of dawn in excellent description. It silences the world around the reader while the words come as whispered breath. One typo found: "nobles shade" is missing an apostrophe. :)
Really choice work. Are you published yet?
