A Poem by Kristina Moulaison

when am I whole

in the moment before sleep

when death and panic mingle

or in the sunlight bliss of afternoon

when solace and emptiness meet

am i true and pure

in the moment

that our lips first touch

and i remember

how much this would be missed

or when I think of you and touch my fingers

to my lips and feel that empty longing

wanting you there

am i ever whole

if memory and want flash

in and out and never land

is there nothing more

than a soft note resonating

in a vacuum

I absolutely LOVE this. It is fabulous. In mid poem, I caught myself trying to answer your question and finally that last wonderful stanza. You always seem to find your way back to the music. The music I suspect, is one of the ingredients that makes up your soul.
