The Altar of Blood and Fire

The Altar of Blood and Fire

A Poem by Mladen

When I stood in front of the altar of sacrfice

And heard the goddess's  voice

For a brief moment

I realized

That no lamb nor sheep would please the mighty being

The divine
An Aphrodite of everyones lives

A succubus you lustfully needed

So with humble voice I yelled:

"What do you want

The star of my life

The love of my soul

The moon of my night?"

And with manly voice she replied:

"I want what everyone has,

But refuse to give

What everyone needs,

But has it under it's nose

What everyone lusts for

But denies it in the end."

So with that in my mind

I realized

That what she wanted I carried with me

And with no concern at all

I gave her all she wanted and all I ever had.

I sacrficed myself to the altar of blood and fire.
