jelly eyed lookA Poem by Christopher WithersFirst published in 2006moist jelly eyes glisten against the sun, hungrily sucking at each image which unfolds before them. flesh, sagging, pinned and stretched across bone frame, lumbers on meat sack legs, undertaking self created, time consuming tasks. on occasion each flesh sack spits and slobbers, grunting compliments at others and their (unchosen) looks, as if each blue eye, dark stained hair defined cheek bone, are anything but predetermined structures, pinnacles of mindless math - for this instance at least yet such hollow achievements will surely dictate a lifetime.
