The Letter- My versionA Poem by Missy JaneA contest entry. It all started with the letter. I traced your name with my sight. Your script, always perfect and legible, only marred by the blurring in my eyes. Tears rain down upon the ink. I cause a smudge with my thumb. Do you feel my pain vibrate through the thin paper in my hands? I once called you my muse and you laughed, the sound music upon the breeze. You handed me a plain envelope the day after we met. An invitation to enter your world. I gladly accepted. And now the ending is so like our beginning. It all started with the letter. © 2009 Missy Jane |
