When I dream and when I rise

Thoughts of you are on my mind

Even though you’re not here

I only long to hold you near

To hear the sound of your voice

Tells my heart that you’re my choice

We may be separate in time and space

So to be sweeter when I see your face

Everlasting friendship helps ease the pain

At this distance trust we’ll gain

Plagued by hurt in the past

We won’t rush, won’t go too fast

Every day we get by

Gives us moments more sublime
