Take My Hand

A poem I wrote for a friend when she was feeling down.

When I look at you, I see the weight of your troubles crushing you down. Take my hand and know I’ll get you through. Don’t you know, you aren’t alone?  We can do this together, me and you. We’ll be our own hero; someone to come and rescue us when we’re knocked down. Just take my hand and we’ll pull through.

When I see you, I see the pain and troubles you struggle with. Let me take them away; let me be your staff to lean on. Take my hand, we can do this together. You and Me. When the rain pours down, and hides our tears, we’ll smile `till we laugh. `Cause we can do this. You and Me. We can do this; just take my hand and I’ll show you the way.
