Beyond the Glass

Beyond the Glass

A Poem by Scarlett Dale
"

A confusing poem that just hit me.. It's hard to understand.

"

So lost and in the dark; tell me please, how do I find myself?

Is all this confusion and misunderstanding just how I’ll live my life?

Tell me, what must I do for you to understand " do you even see me?

See the real me, see how I suffer; see how I wander in the dark. So alone, so alone.

My feelings inside are empty, I cry dry tears. Can’t you see them? Just hold me and whisper that it will be okay.

Will it be okay? Can you promise me this? So many questions; swimming in my head. Tell me how to answer them all.

When my time comes, will I feel fulfilled? Or will I remain alone in the dark. Show me the way, please show me.

So lost.

Lost.

So alone.

Alone on the path.

The path.

Alone.

I don't think this was confusing. I think the emotion that comes off it is that of a person who is confused and in despair or frustrated. But I can relate completely, fortunately or unfortunately. I think you managed to describe a confusing emotion very well.
