And There We Stood

And There We Stood

A Poem by MissRed

and there we stood

looking at one another

for the first time in almost a year

some things had changed

things that i didn't want to see

it was things that had stayed the same

that i wanted to bathe in, relish

i could have stood there for hours

just looking at you, rememorizing

taking you all in as i did the first day

that i had ever layed eyes upon you

could this be a new first day?

now the rain is coming down, just drops

but the cold has us shivering

for all of the wrong reasons

you've been lost to me for too long

now we are more like strangers

i'm not sure that you'll let me

but i want to discover you all over again

seeing you now i know exactly why

looking into your eyes, i know

we should have never fallen apart

putting us back together again

means everything in the world to me.

This poem has a warm familiar feeling to it , like the gaze of an old love. I really liked the your new word
"rememorizing" ... Brilliant touch. Gives the piece a playful feel as well. An old flame can be hard to put out when it never really stopped burning. Very nice work.

Written with a lot of feelings and longing. Your flow is easy and the words choosen tell a visual story. However someimes it's best to let things stay broken, to avoid the pain all over again.
