A Mystery

A Mystery

A Poem by MissRed
"

Written for a dear friend

"

i say you are a mystery

that i can't quite figure out

it is so true, maybe only to me

who can't read you like a book

open and closed feel the same

you are that novel that no one has ever finished

a rare find among stacks or on the bottom shelf

the one that you pick up and just know

i think for a moment only i am meant to see

there is a power held in your words

both spoken and unspoken

that move me, twist me, turn me

you are the one that keeps me up

long after the sun has faded

and your cover i shall run my fingers over

looking for answers, some key or clue

that will take me through to the very end

that i'm not sure i ever really want to find.

This is a really great sentiment and you stated it beautifully. I know people that I'd love to be able to "read like a book" but am frustratingly unable to - so way to put a thought I've had many times into just the right words. You really worked well with your metaphor and carried it through to its full extent in a wonderfully creative and original way. Great job!

Miss Red, a very passionate piece...a lucky man indeed to have evoked such a stirring within you.

I really like the simplicity in this, as displayed in this verse "you are that novel that no one has ever finished, a rare find among stacks or on the bottom shelf, the one that you pick up and just know i think for a moment only i am meant to see."

A most wonderful prose! (Translated) These words are poppin right off the page yo!!!!

Take care doll, and have a great weekend ;-)
