Tracer

A Poem by MissRed
"

You try and figure it out!

"

she was on her side

her face but inches from mine

i closed my eyes

it was easier not to look

that way i could feel

the pads of her fingers were soft and smooth

like she had no wrinkles or lines

no fingerprints maybe

but her legs were thick

her feet were rough

her face slicked with sweat

and under that a layer of bumps

i hated the feel of everything

but her fingers

and i think she sensed this

my eyes shut tight

i felt her breath on my eyelids

and it wasn't so bad

she was out of sight and mind

even with her hands on my hair

tanged temporarily

i sighed and she kissed my forehead

and stuttered to wake

wanting to emerge but not

i see her for what she is

and she isn't bad or ugly

but she isn't anything for me

to want or to want to lay my hands upon

so what was she thinking when she chose me

to lay her hands upon?
