Nothing But Man

Nothing But Man

A Poem by MissRed

i locked eyes with him

he was scared, i could tell

but he held on and on

i wanted so badly to turn and run

or kill him, ruin him, just hate him

and i couldn't do that simple thing

and from anger to confusion

from strength to pride to fear

to pity him, no, pity me

his eyes changed over and over

click, click, click

from one frame of mind to another

i never clicked from weak

he could beat me

pulverise me

i could be nothing

and he would be nothing but man.
