Broken In, Broken Out

Broken In, Broken Out

A Poem by MissRed
"

my sleepy mind just started writing this out at 3 am. i refused to get up and write it all down. i'm sure it was better then but this is what i remember

"

you came in so easily, quietly, nearly undetected

blew in from under my tightly closed doors

crept through a space in between the window and sill

i was afraid at first, an unwelcome invader you were

but i came to embrace you, a stranger no more

trusted you, began to need to you there

we had a become a home together, i thought

but you revolted, pushed me away, why?

you broke the doors to rush out one day

shattered my windows into thousands of shards of glass

left the inside a mess of disorder and disaster

everything overturned and in pieces

i have searched every corner, every closet, every space

but the simple fact remains the same

you've cleaned me out, taken everything valuable

so that nothing is left but an emptiness inside
