Riverboat Queen

Riverboat Queen

A Poem by MissRed

tutned and saw the death of sister mary
in the back of my mind
the riverboat queen
take away the pain i almost need
through the deep mud, her hands sifted slow
with my eyes so tightly closed
i think the blood of sundown may never come
i worry as through my lids i see the sun
time never goes as fast as i want
and so on and on our memories are free to haunt
the water breathes life with each slice
we sail on not knowing when or how
we'll finally stop.
