Too Cold

Too Cold

A Poem by MissRed

the breeze off of the lake washes over me
like my sins on this hot day
and i feel a chill of guilt and regret
like none i've ever felt before
i look out across the water
and the gentle waves go back and forth
over and again so that i am left hyptnotized
stuck inbetween here and there
lost somewhere i don't want to be again
my chest is empty
too cold to feel any love or any real pain
i'm just there, sitting on this rock
watching the waves and wondering
why?
