Something Gnaws Within the Wall

Something Gnaws Within the Wall

A Poem by MissRed

something gnaws within the wall
at what i don't think i want to know
i hear it all night
i cover my ears and hear it still
on and on and when dawn comes
it stays all through the day
louder and louder with each creeping, crawling hour
i think i might burst
because there isn't anything left to do
i hold my head, rocking back and forth like a child
and because i am one again
i'm vulnerable, i know
and there must be a monster within my wall
but i am so old, my mind so whipped
my body so tired
i need sleep but what is sleep
something gnaws within the wall
and i think it is gnawing at me.

Uhhhcreepy and well penned.
I liked the title, took me straight to it.
This is a good confession of something truly terrible, and the fact that you declare the thing to still be there makes it even better.
